What a sweet time we had at the Boston Songwriting residential 2 weeks back: We were all a little nervous and shy, and wanting to share our creativity and learn and shine together. It was a great weekend, we really got in to experiencing sound and tone, playing with melodies, learning about harmony and approaches to song writing, developing a career as an artist too. On The Saturday night we had an open mic and then Stephanie Hannah and I played a set, folk were dancing! Wahooo 🙂 We plan to host the next one in April of 2019, please sign the mailing list on the left hand side of this page to be kept updated of when that is available to register for. I dare you to come!
Heres a song from last Summers ‘In The Sea’ EP. I wrote this last Spring about the feeling of relief when one is witnessed and accepted by a dear one. We all struggle and being told ‘I love it when you open up to me’ is a gift for those of us who find that scary 🙂 This and other songs will be in full effect on the 2018 UK Summer tour. See here for info 🙂
I’m excited to say that my agent Jimmy and I are putting together a venue and house concert tour of the UK, Ireland, and maybe other European places, from Mid June through into mid August. I’ve got a lot of new songs I want to share, and Godess willing, a new album by then too. Would you be interested in hosting a (totally acoustic, no amplification) house concert for your community? I’m wanting to play great events 🙂 From the heart, well organised events put together by people who love music and want to share a beautiful evening of it in a full house of friends and family in their/a friends home. See here for a video we made showing what house concerts can be like.
– Are enthusiastic about hosting a beautiful evening of live music in your home for your community.
– Have a space (Living room, or such like) that could fit ideally 50 people, and a minimum of 25.
– Could commit to helping us making it a rich night for all by inviting plenty of people, making it a well enough organised night, and making it clear that it’s a listening concert, not a house party with background music.
Then you are ideal!
Basically you invite your people, make your living room acoustic concert ready (lots of pillows and blankets, or chairs, or what ever) I come and play a concert for you (Yes JCB song and some other old favourites too!) at the end we pass the basket round and invite people to gift to keep the show on the road. If you can give me a bed and a hot meal then great!
If interested please e-mail my agent Jimmy Davis: firstname.lastname@example.org and lets get rolling. Even if your just part interested, give us a try! Or you can get in touch by filling out the form on this page here.
Availability: I’m available from mid June through to the end of July for UK shows. Scheduling Irish dates from the 30th July to the 12th August.
My new single, “Join The Liberation” is now available to download or stream on iTunes here. Happily Janice Long played it on BBC Wales recently. I’d love it if you were willing to ask DJ’s to play it please!
The times we live in call us to reach deeper and further, to overcome the horrors we are seeing we need to be saying what we feel, what we yearn for, and connecting to other folk who feel the same. That’s how movements are built, and the way we grow the world that we want to see, this song is a call to ‘Join The Liberation’, which is both an inward and an outward movement. What are you feeling, what are you seeing?
The track is out now. Please spread the word if you will. L

Thank you very much for visiting! This is the online home of my Music, coaching, community, and education work. I’m a singer-songwriter, from Warwickshire England, now based in Boston Massachusetts. I’m devoted to making the best art I can, and to making a positive difference; asking questions like ‘how is what I’m doing relevant to the poorest, and most vulnerable’?
My play as a singer-songwriter (writing, recording, gigging and promoting) takes up the main part of my time, I also coach people who want to realise their song writing gifts and vision, I host song-writing workshops, do youth music workshops and write poems and blogs. Below is a video introduction to my music. Please click ‘Sign the Mailing List’ (Left hand side of screen) and we’ll keep you updated (about 6 times a year) about news, gigs, releases, workshops and jam making (maybe not the last one)
Please do get in touch via the contacts page if you need to, and please do help me spread the word about this music and work, by sharing videos and tweets etc. We need all the support we can get! I am available for some song commissions, private gigs, benefit gigs, and some gigs in prisons, or, try me! 🙂
For Enquiries and bookings you will find contact details here.
Go well friends!
Hello from Birmingham! It’s been a long and lovely Winter. I needed some quiet time, and I’ve gotten it. I started the New Year in a little Buddhist retreat, out on the Beara peninsula of West Cork in Ireland. A heavenly way to begin the year in silent wakeful happiness ☺ I had some quality time with family there, and since have been working away in Birmingham on all the things I can’t do when touring; accounts, practicing, reflecting and planning, writing, seeing friends and music and my Nan! I’m loving it and thinking of retiring! ☺ Not really… There is so much music to make and share and people to meet and collaborate with and dance with!
I’ll tell you about what I’m doing musically: I’m getting in as much song writing as I can this next month, and then heading out on a house concert tour through April. House concerts can be magical due to the primal act of people gathering, sharing food, listening to acoustic music, and singing. Simplicity is a wonderful thing, and I am really looking forward to these concerts. If you’re interested in knowing more, or booking one, holler at Jimmy my agent, and a wonderful man.
I’m then hitting up the venues on the poster above throughout May and June all of which are listed with links to venue details here on my web site. I’m playing The London, Banbury, Cheriton Bishop (Devon) and Festival shows with a band, other shows will be solo. I like this solo challenge; the more intimate a gig is by being stripped down like this, the more I need to connect and invite engagement from the audience. Fun ☺.
I’m needing help please! Would you be willing to forward this mail to any friends (including the attachment which is the poster image) who might enjoy a night of this kind of music, and recommend it to them? Sharing my social media posts helps people hear about my music too. Nothing helps like word of mouth though, and, although it will be special to play solo shows, the London shows with the band will be intense, joyful and energetic if history is anything to go by!
I’m playing some Summer festivals, which are listed above too, and then preparing to emigrate to America in October! WHAT!? Yes, I’m in love with a very special person and, I need to follow this so, the big ocean beckons and I’m bound for Boston! It’s been a long decision to make: I love England and Ireland and this part of the world. It’s home and I love so many people here and, I’ve made my whole career here. I’m hopeful but realistic about how much work it will take to build a new career in America, and build a new life. Yet ‘Love is Lord of all’ as the old song goes and, I’m following. It’s my intention to be back here for a month a year or so, or maybe more. All to be figured out, but I want to keep playing gigs here in Britian, Ireland and Europe! So, do you know of any American venues I should play? ☺ Wish me luck, and thanks so much for supporting my music.
